2WD setup at my local track.
I started with the setup I posted previously, but I just didn't have enough steering for my liking at my local track. I had reached a point where I didn't really know how to get any more steering into the car and was getting increasingly frustrated. However, I made a few breakthroughs and I think I've ended up with a better overall setup for my local track.
I race on high-bite clay locally on HotRace slicks.
The biggest change I made was the front hex width. I shortened it. I previously ran it long because the surrounding setup made it have dramatically more steering. However, with this setup, it actually ended up giving me less steering, specifically at low speeds, which is where I needed it the most. This did take away a little high-speed steering, but I made some changes to the rear end to get that back.
I lowered the rear pills and dropped the axle height to 1. This gave the car much more grip in the tight 180s where you're going slow, while also helping break the rear end free at high speeds to produce a little more steering.
I also went to 3° trailing. The only reason I was previously on 4° was to get more low-speed steering. I could feel how much the 4° trailing was hurting my high-speed lap times, and it removed far more high-speed steering than it added at low speeds, so I went back to 3°. This gave me the low-speed comfort I wanted while bringing back the high-speed steering.
There are some other changes as well, but they're less major and mostly support the overall setup in my opinion.
