Author: Marco Moreno

13mm AE Truck Shocks Front and Rear

  • 13mm Avid B74.X shock mounts work (Yokomo 13mm mounts may too)
  • use the longest 13mm AE eyelets front and rear
  • tune droop with internal limiter shims, rear no internal limiter shims used at all

13mm Yokomo Buggy Shock Conversion
  • Use Factory Foote Front YZ2T Tower
  • Use Facotry Foote Rear -2 Tower for maximum available droop
  • Use Yokomo 13mm Buggy Front shocks in the front, 2mm internal limiters to start
  • Use Yokomo 13mm Buggy Rear Long Shocks in the Rear, no limiters
  • For maximum droop on the rear, use Associated Shock ends +6 from ASC91885

FRONT
- A-Arms
  • T6.2 and greater front a-arms, flip side left to right, right to left
  • drill small screw holes to use screws to hold pins on rear of a-arms so they don't come out

- Swaybars
  • Sway bar mounts will now screw onto the front of the a-arms
  • Sway bar mounts bolt onto the AE ball mounts, remove the mounting balls or use old style cups
  • flip sway bar adjustment collars around so they cover more of the sway bar wire
  • Yokomo 4wd Buggy Swaybars may be used if trimmed for thicker bars

- Front lower Bulkhead
  • shimming on inner hingepin needed, about 1.75mm to 1.85mm gap, using stock pins
  • Shim the a-arm forward
  • Instead of shimming, you can use the SO 2.0 front metal bulkhead braces, 1 mounted to rear
  • Pins will poke out of the lower bulkhead less due to the thicker a-arms, use metal bulkheads
  • Use the aluminum front bulkhead brace that the CAL3.X and SO 1.0 comes with on the front
  • Use a fresh bumper to keep everything together or add something to take up any space

- Outer Front Carriers
  • Outer front carriers need to be CAL3.X and up as far as the insert and pins go
  • T6.2 and up outer hingepin or cutdown Yokomo CAL3.X and up pin to 26mm / same length
  • Carrier will fit a-arms snug with no shim, frees up over time or Dremel a-arm or carrier slightly

- SO 2.0 / 3.0 Steering Blocks
  • Use Part #ZC-550A x 4 (for 2.0mm) between axle and outer bearing to space the axle properly

- SO 3.0 Servo Mount
  • use Flat head 3x6mm screw to mount to YZ2T Chassis plate

- Team Associated 3.5mm Turnbuckles
  • Use turnbuckles from T6.4 / T7
  • Camber Link: Use long turnbuckles. Use the Yokomo ball cups, drill them out using 3.2mm bit
  • Steering Link: Use short turnbuckles. Use Associated 3.5mm Turnbuckle ball cups

REAR
- YZ4SF2 / MO.X Rear Carrier and inserts

- CAL3.X rear sway bar kit, can pop mount over AE ball on a-arm

- A-Arms
  • approximately 1 to 2mm of shims is needed on inner hingepins

- Inner rear Hingepin
  • Stock 3.5mmx47.5mm CAL3.X, AE are 3.5mmx48mm
  • CAL3.X 3.5mm hingepin inserts

- Rear outer Hingepin
  • AE b74 pin ASC92188
  • Approximately 6.0mm to 6.5mm of shims are needed with the Yokomo rear carriers

- Team Associated 3.5mm Turnbuckles
  • Use turnbuckles from T6.4 / T7
  • Camber Link: Use long turnbuckles. Use Associated 3.5mm Turnbuckle Cups
