I ran my car at Oswestry
yesterday (31th of may 2009), on a very worn grass track, at the 2nd
round of the BRCA national champs. I finished 2nd.
Below is my set up from the event. I'm sure you will note that all of my
settings are quite similar however, I wanted to make you aware of what
we had done in regard to lipo settings, now I have my proper Reedy lipo
cells on board.
We have added some extra weight back into the car- we have placed a 45g
lead strip under each saddle pack, cut down to the size of the footprint
of the saddle. This means an additional 90g to the car in total. The
running weight of the car is bang on 1800g, and though this sounds
heavy, extra weight really seems to suit the car, it was designed around
being heavy.
Rather than softening the rear of the car as we did through the winter
when running larger lipos, we simply added weight and therefore left the
shock settings as when running on NiMh batteries, however at the front
end of the car, we moved back to the inner hole on the wishbone as the
level of grip on the track yesterday was quite low as there was a lot of
dust on track. I still feel on high grip surfaces, the outer hole on the
wishbone is much better.
Hope this is useful to you.
