- Schumacher Cougar KR - Scott Guyatt - Build -
Cougar KR tweet build begins!

still the best organised build out. 1 bag = 1 step.

Beautiful alloy trans housings.

Rear end in place. Nicely machined ally chassis with recess for esc leads. Nice!

Super neat reverse steering rack in place.

Servo in, we opted for the Core R/C alloy servo arm.

Captured axles and hex wheel mounts up front on the Cougar KR.

Front end together.

Build smooth so far, just had to shave a little mould flash off the front susp arms. Like the new front blocks/axles/hubs!
On the the three gear transmission. Lay shaft a work of art.

Top end of the tranny coming together. Gearbox splits vertically for easy diff access.

Top half together, conventional dual-disc slipper clutch, 83t spur.

Heart of the Cougar KR transmission – the new gear diff. Looks solid.

Ready to fill!

Diff feels smooth. We’ve started with the 2000cst fluid supplied by Schumacher.

Top loading diff for easy access. Want to change fluids? It’s a snap!

Just like that, gearbox is in, camber link mount can be replaced with option plates to change camber gain.

That might do for tonight. Wrong side of midnight. We’ll continue tomorrow.

Cougar continues. Rear UJ and standard hex drive.

Still hate building turnbuckles, but the supplied tool makes it easier. 3 position wheelbase adjust at hub.

4mm carbon-fibre shock towers, nice tidy and lightweight wing mounts!

Starting to look like a race car! Now for the shocks.

13mm big bore shocks, seal stack loads from the base, a little AE Green Slime always helps seals.

3 hole pistons supplied in kit, and the recommended setup.

We went for Core 350 in the rear & Core 450 up front per the starting setup sheets. Core have full range.

Shocks are an easy build. Sealed caps and diaphragms std, vented caps and emulsion an option.

Finished up front! Cougar KR looking good!

Tidy rear end. Shocks are awesome!

Battery brace pivots from rear and adds a lot of rigidity to chassis.

Alloy chassis with moulded side guards for nice tight body fit.

Rear motor…for low traction. Moulded gear cover.

Nicely shaped clear wing, options in black, white and carbon patterns available.

Stealth black wheels, we’ve opted for Pro-Line Ion tyres for our test at Gold Coast RC Raceway.

Cougar KR by Paint by Justin Moore. Ready to rock.

Front end

Side shot. Time to play? Testing will be a couple of weeks away.

Thanks for following along with our first tweet-build. Well be back soon with a tweet-test!

Car feels awesome in hand. Shocks lush, materials ‘A Grade’.
The Cougar KR ready to rumble.
