The 2014 Hot Rod Hobbies Shootout was held July 17th-20th at Hot Rod Hobbies in Saugus, California. Kyosho would arrive at this years Shootout with one of their strongest Teams to date consisting of: Current 2wd Buggy World Champion Jared Tebo, Cody Turner, Matt Castellano, Matt Chambers, and Zack Rogers. Kyosho America Team Manager Joe Pillars was also on-hand to assist all Kyosho team drivers and customers. With great weather in the forcast and an impressive 270 race entries, it was going to be a great weekend of racing!

Saturday, July 19th: 3 Rounds of Qualifying
Sunday, July 20th: Triple A-Main Events

2wd Modified Buggy
Qualifying: Kyosho's Jared Tebo went onto dominate rounds #1 & #3 of qualifying to take the overall TQ honors.


A-Main #1: Tebo drove a perfect race and easily took home the Win uncontested.

A-Main #2: This would be a different story, with Tebo and 2nd qualifier Ty Tessman battling it out for the entire race. Tebo would drive a another mistake free race to keep Tessman at bay and take the Overall Championship!

2wd Modified Short Course

Qualifying: Kyosho's Jared Tebo would TQ rounds #1 & #2 of qualifying to take the overall TQ for the class.

A-Main #1: Tebo would battle it out early with 2nd qualifier Ryan Cavalieri and would hang on for the Win.

A-Main #2: Tebo and Cavalieri again had a great battle with both drivers never getting more than 5 feet away from each other during the entire race. With a few laps to go, Cavalieri was able to get by to take the Win and force the Championship to a 3rd an final A-Main.

A-Main #3: Tebo would again take full advantage of his #1 starting position and hold his lead throughout the race. With 1-minute to go, Cavalieri was right behind Tebo applying allot of pressure. Tebo wasn't phased and went onto take the Win and his 2nd Championship of the weekend!

Congrats goes out to Kyosho's Zack Rogers who came out of retirement this past weekend and took the impressive Win in the 13.5 Super Stock Buggy class with his RB6!
