Spencer Rivkin was recently crowned the ROAR 1:10 Off-Road 4wd Modified Buggy National Champion! This was his first 4wd Buggy National Title. Rivkin currently has two World Titles in 2wd buggy and seven (now eight) ROAR National Titles in various classes. Today, we’re taking you under the hood of his Team Associated B74.1d!

As always we’re going to start with the outside of the vehicle before diving into the deep end. This weekend Rivkin was running the JConcepts F2 body painted by Kustom RC Graphics in Rivkin’s signature scheme. From there, you’ll notice he’s running the JConcepts 7 in” Pre-trimmed Wing. Lastly, we want to point out the tires and wheels. SDRC Raceway is a pretty standard 1:10 Off-road dirt track. Therefore, we were running Silver Smoothie 2s all weekend long. Rivkin has his smoothie 2s mounted on the JConcepts Mono wheels. For inserts, drivers experimented with different foams and adaptor combinations throughout the weekend. Ultimately, Rivkin landed on running the Hard RM2 Foams all the way around with the JConcepts Sidewall adaptors in the front.

Spencer actually has a video about the foams and how to install the sidewall adaptors.

Now it’s time to go under the hood! Starting at the front and working out way back, you’ll notice he installed the JConcepts Fin Titanium Turnbuckles. The next items you’ll come upon are the servo and ESC. He is running the Savox SB-2262SG High Torque, Low Profile servo. For the ESC, he’s using the Hobbywing XR10 Pro. Nestled right behind the servo is his receiver. Rivkin uses the Futaba 10PX Radio with the R404SBS-E. Wrapping up the electronics section, you’ll notice he installed the Hobbywing V10 G3 6.5 Turn motor. Last but certainly not least, he’s sporting the Protek 4800/7.6V 2s 130C battery.
