As I sit at the airport for my next event, it gives me a few minutes to reflect on the previous one a few weeks ago. The Masters Of Dirt RC Championships hosted by Beach RC & Hobbies

This was the first race I'd flown to a race since January and the first time I'd raced 4wd since the 2018 Reedy International Off-Road Race of Champions. Both represent the longest break in quite some time.

Upon arrival in Charlotte I joined the crew for the week and was chauffeured around by Jackson Brunson with Spencer Rivkin and Dustin Evans in the Dodge Ram too. My first impression of the track was a good one. It had a little bit of everything and there were sections that would be difficult to navigate without error for a full run. Those first couple packs were rusty for sure and as qualifying got underway I struggled to limit my mistakes.

Heading in to main day I had adjusted to the time change, taken some input from the guys for setup and committed to my JConcepts tire program. I got an early lead in the 40+ 2wd Open class and never looked back. My arch nemesis in the class Allen Horne kept me honest as we navigated the 10-minute final, but I was able to get the win. In 40+ 4wd Open I landed on the best setup for me of the week and was able to lap the field twice bringing home my second title of the weekend.

Overall the team had a GREAT weekend with lots of success for each of us. We gelled well and shared info with each other and our customers. Thanks to the 344 entries who joined us for the 2020 MOD. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to The Palmetto State.
