Like many tracks now, our local track uses a vegetable oil treatment to keep dust down and reduce track maintenance. This produces a polished surface which gives good traction with the correct tyres.

We have found best results using the JConcepts Ellipse tyres in Silver compound. Tyre treatment is not allowed at our track but does give more traction on these surfaces if permitted. The super soft compounds (black and green) also give good results but the silver feels more consistent and wears better when it's warm.

Our setup is not far from the kit B6.3d setup and the car is very easy to drive. On these surfaces too much weight at the rear loses a lot of corner speed, so we use the laydown transmission, alloy C/d blocks, and no rear arm sweep.

For the aero package we like the feel of the JConcepts F2 body as it generates the highest corner speed. We use the P2 body in lower grip / more traditional dirt tracks as it gives more rear grip.

It's important to have smooth power as too much wheelspin causes a sudden loss of side bite. We run a 7.5t Reedy M4 with the #27447 rotor which smooths out the bottom end.
