Short story: P1 in F1 and P2 in ProStock!! YEA!!!!

Here we go with a short race report of the last weekend:
But can I say... "last" weekend ? NO ;) We´ve been there allready a weekend befire to get some tests done with the Team. Learned some important stuff like the ARS can also work good when you choose a setup that the toe in open instead of close. Sounds strange right ? But works ;) To my/our suprise we find out in Stock that another Bodyshell works good as well. After some fine tuning we find a very good setup in the cloudy weather on the practice weekend and felt very good prepaired for the race. As Sefan and I both decided to drive to Apeldoorn to test for the ETS rd3 allready instead of driving home for just two days we also tested there max as the weather allowed us. Found some good working setup there as well. But I dont want to make this to long... here we go with the ETS RACE! ;)

Thursday:
Practice, practice and even more practice. Quite unusual for a ETS to drive that much we enjoyed to have more track time to test different setup ways. While we normaly just change .5 here and there we this time tried very crazy stuff ^^ As the weather and track was very hot it wasn that easy to find the right changes for the very much changing track. However we found our practice setup worked out very well with just some small changes about the toe out gain in the rear when its going warmer outside and also free up the rear then. However... We sat the practice pace! Good start so far to this great event!

Friday:
Q... oh... its not qualy... its practice again ^^ 2 Rounds free and 2 times times when I remember right. Oh and a seeding turn. Time to make some more little adjustments like less toe out, more Bumpsteer and higher rear rollcenter. Pace was there not just 3 laps... we also didnt destroy the tires that much anymore so we drop a bit less then our rivals wich gaves us a good advantage ;)

Saturday:
Q time!!
1: Tire gamble as its finest ;) But this time our contenders did it better as we did but we will remember that hehe ;)

This time both Alex and I choose to fight for the TQ in the fastest expected morning run. Well... I failed with my driving drope like its 10 degree warmer outside. Totaly brain afk but in F1 it worked out like that ;) However... mess it up by myself but still very happy about my 2nd place just .5 away of Alexandre.

2: Gamble... Gamble ? Even if its true lets call it strategy ^^ Decided to use old tires I wasn't able to hold the pace from both Alexandre and Simon that run. Still very happy with my 3rd place 🙂

3: Gamble paid of for our teammate Lukas Ellerbrock! Out of nothing... boom a TQ run! Fist one at a ETS right ? Well done! Failed that run to much while I tryed to gain some time. But pushed over the limit. Decide to dont interrupt other runs and drove just practice laps as I knew the tires where gone.

4: All in or nothing! Yes ;) But no ;) While I was fighting for the lead with a more or less solid run I made my very first big driving error of the entire weekind. Slide into the corner, step up the power to early... car closed in... touches the curb and flip. What a fail from my side. As I should have pull out to safe the tires I decided straight to show what I'm able to do and fight back. On this point I want to send a big THANKS to Simon Lauter! He let me pass him again after my driving error even he was leading on that point. Thats a massive fair play! Wish its always like that ;) However... tried my best but missed the TQ run with a small margin. .3 I guess ? However... 3rd on the grid!
Congrats to Alexandre for his TQ and Simon for his gamble and fair play 2nd place. I want to point also a big congrats to Lukas for his strong 4th line up at the grid! ;)

Finals:
Lets start with F1: It may sound a bit over the limit but my car worked so good that I convert my TQ to a win in both A1 and A2 with a good safety gap. Congrats to my all time rival David for his 2nd place. This time it wasn that easy for him as my teammate Lukas Hoch did a huge pressure on him. Congrats to a solid 3rd place! Also Good job to both Rene and Herbert! 4th and 5th!

Back to Stock:
A1: Whats going on ? My car was on point from the start! 2nd place Simon made a mistake end of the straight and I was able to follow Alexandre for the entire 5minute Final. Found no space to pass as his car was 1meter wider ;) Good blocking and well done Alexandre for the win in A1 and Lukas for a solid 3rd place.
A2: My most fun to drive final this year! Alexandre, Simon and I pulled away quite confortable and had a fantanstic battle on the track the until the last lap. Simon made a very little mistake on the long right and I was right there to set the car beside for the upcoming left corner. When he tryed to close again I was already there and he spon because of the collision. I dont want to talk around. I wish I could have overtake him without any contact but we both agreed it was a acceptable overtake as it started with the earlier error und the try to close a bit to late. Thank you again for the fair play Simon and explain the situation like it really was and not with a lie or bad word. chapeau!!
A3: The decider! Sadly I wasnt able to follow Simon and he was able to pull away. Got chased by Max and got passed fairly. Well done ;) That was not my final... Tryed my best but had big problems to hold the car straight... But guess what ? I made a mistake but found the problem. Will take an eye of it to make sure this dont happen again. However... Im very happy about my 2nd place even I knew the pace was there for more ;)

Seems like this is my longest report and just written what I think in this moment. Thank you very much to Uwe Rheinard, Toni Rheinard, Philip Richter, and the entire ETS crew to work very to make sure we have a enjoyable and great event once gain! Im lokking forward to Rd3 in Apeldoorn in a month ;)
