It was a dream start for the XRAY pairing of Olly Jefferies and Zak Finlay as the BRCA Touring car nationals got underway at round one at the Cotswolds track over the weekend

In Modified Olly Jefferies got off to a great start taking TQ in round one, Zak did the same in pro stock, Zak went on to take TQ in all five rounds of stock qualifying while Olly had to wait for a third win in round four to secure his converted pole position for the modified A final

The first leg of the A final in modified saw an early mistake from second place man on the grid Elliott Harper, this took the pressure of Olly in the early part of the race, on new tyres Olly had saved from Qualifying he was able to keep a comfortable gap to the chasing pack and take leg one

Leg two was a lot harder for Olly and he had to fight off a strong challenge from Elliott Harper but looked comfortable defending his position, Olly took the win and with it the meeting, a great start for the UK champion as he starts to defend his national title

Making his first ever modified national A final was Xray driver Markus Askell, Markus surprised many with a very mature controlled performance that saw him line up 8th on the grid for the A main, Markus put in very controlled performance in the finals and was rewarded with ninth in the A final, a great result as Markus qualified from the bottom heat

In 13.5 stock Zak made things look really easy in stock with three convincing buzzer to buzzer A final wins, Zak rarely looked challenged all weekend and on his way to TQ set a new stock track record for the Cotswold club

A perfect start for the defending champions, before the next domestic round both drivers will head to Luxemburg for the next round of the ETS series before returning to the BRCA national champion when the series moves on to Mendip next month
