In this video I'll talk about the 5 most common errors that X4 users make in building/running/setting up the car!
Perhaps you've done some of them yourself? Please watch the video to find out!

Chapters:

  • 00:00 - Introduction
  • 01:18 - Front body height & body upstops
  • 05:12 - Steering EPA/steering lock set incorrectly
  • 09:15 - Battery mounted without play
  • 12:29 - Anti-roll bars mounted without play
  • 15:47 - Belt tension too tight or too loose

In addition to the 5 commonly made errors that I listed in the video, I would also like to add the two following ones:

1. Overuse of thread lock on the small set screws in ECS & CVD drive shafts. This might cause the drive shafts to bind up during use, which will affect the suspension movement during cornering.

2. Uneven eccentric belt tensioning position between left and right. This will make the diff and/or spool to sit at an angle, which will have a negative effect on the transmission, and may cause binding to occur.
