Tech Report – Hudy Series MRcup Rnd.1

The Hudy Series MR Cup Round 1 was my first carpet race with the new X4’26, and the car performed flawlessly throughout the entire event. I wanted to share my setup sheet along with a few extra notes — this setup should work well as a starting point for medium-traction carpet tracks in stock class racing.

Car & Setup
I ran the car completely out of the box, with no optional parts installed. The performance was impressive from the very first pack on low traction, all the way through the final runs when traction increased.
Competing in the 13.5T Hobbywing Justock class, I chose the 2mm aluminum chassis. This is my preferred choice for stock racing, as it helps carry more corner speed and remains stable without traction issues even under high grip conditions.

Handling Adjustments
Because the track layout was very technical, I made a few small geometry tweaks:

  • Reduced rear toe-in and toe gain for improved off-power steering and rotation.
  • Decreased bump steer shimming to sharpen steering response.
  • Used upstops to make the car more stable through long sweepers and achieve a smoother, more rounded feel in corners.

  • Summary
The XRAY X4’26 handled incredibly well all weekend — consistent, fast, and easy to drive as the track evolved. I’d recommend this setup to anyone running on medium-traction carpet with a stock motor.
