David is using an optional 1.2mm chassis, combined with optional short lower arms, short upper links, and -1mm upper clamps, for an aggressiv - yet controllable feel of his X4'26 at his tight and technical track.
David is running standard shocks, and more stood up shock positions, to make the car more direct, to better suit his preference. The rear 2.7 is optional as well, and provides more forward drive, and more initial response.
He fitted an optional 1.2mm front anti-roll bar, for more mid corner steering.
The car has a Wolverine body mounted, forward, and with an original wing.
After a wholesome weekend, I couldn't keep the tech tips to myself. Surprisingly for me, there weren't a lot of changes from the setup I use at my home track, just some minor adjustments to cope with the need of such a high-demanding track/series combo. Here are some of the changes that made my car went as fast as it got.\
- Main setup change was to go with the steel chassis, I wouldn't say it was substantially faster than the aluminum car, but it definitely made it easier to go fast around the track.
- Went from 5K oil diff to 7K, since I was lacking a bit of traction coming out from the hairpins and chicane.
- Having made the decision to go harder with the diff, I needed some rotation back, so I decided to go with a softer rear spring, from 2.8 to 2.7
- Midway through the first day Jan Ratheisky made the suggestion to go with standard shocks all around instead of PSS, it made a huge difference in terms of drivability.
- For qualifying I made the decision to go with upper links instead of CFF arms, hoping to have more pace at the end of the run, something that did happen and helped me throughout the race.
**Night final notes: Probably the best pace I had compared to the other guys on the track. I didn't change much on the car, I didn't even change the black wing I was driving with (had to keep it for the looks)
I was running the super high, stood up shocks, but I thought the car would be pretty much undriveable with them on. (And I thought I might had enough trying to see my car with the black wing on).
So I made the decision to lower it to 2.5mm in the front instead of my usual 3mm, and went with 2.7 springs in the front, aswell as going back to 2.8 springs on the rear, so the car would keep straight when lifting the throttle.
