Last weekend I attend the second race of the Hudy Series which was held in Banska Bystrica, in Slovakia. The club did an amazing job and they prepared a great race track. The atmosphere was fantastic, and I am also very happy about the car's performance, as I was able to TQ and win the modified class.

The traction was changing during the day from low grip levels, to surprisingly high at the end of the day. It was a great opportunity for me to test my X4`25 in medium-high traction conditions on ETS black carpet. I found a very good set-up that I would like to share with you.

As I was expecting it to be a low to medium traction race, I started the race with my set-up from the Hudy Series - MR Cup where my car was working really good. In the morning practice as well as in the first qualifying round, the car was perfect, but as the traction was increasing, my set-up became too aggressive, and the car started to stop in the corners and as a result, I was lacking stability and cornering speed. Therefore I decided to change the top decks. In low traction, I like the optional glass fibre 1.5mm top decks, since they provide a lot of flex and therefore helps the car to generate more side traction and steering. As the car was aggressive enough, I changed to my 2nd most preferred top deck option for medium traction levels, and those are the kit 2mm top decks with 1 screw mounted in each of the top decks. This change did exactly what I expected, the car was more stable and as a result, I overheated the tires much less. I also gained more cornering speed.

As the traction continued to increase, I swapped my upper arms from full composite, to the CFF XS ones. The composite upper arms are really good for low grip as they generate the most traction and steering. Once again, it turned out to be the right choice, as the car was more round and carried more cornering speed. At this point, I was very happy with the car, and thus I kept it same until the end of the event.

I was really happy with the performance of the car, and especially that I had to do only 2 set-up changes to fine tune it to my driving style as well as the grip levels.
