This is what David had to say about his race and car setup:
I missed a TQ round in Q1 and Q2 by a few tenths of a second, so I had to use new tires in Q3 and then tried to make another one with used tires in Q4, which worked out. The car is super good on used tires.
My setup idea for this race was to use maximum low CG. The car is built completely with Hudy titanium flat head screws, an 1.5mm alu chassis, and ultra LCG lipos from Nosram. I balanced it as low as possible with a total of 115g of Hudy tungsten weights to get it to the weight limit.
Besides that, I am using the hardest available version of suspension arms, so that the car stays precise over the bumps in the banked sweeper, even in warm weather that we have today and expect for tomorrow.
I use 5000 cst diff oil, as usually in the 21.5 class.
Some surprise on the upper link position: I am using a lower than usual position of the upper links on the inside, and a higher than normal position in the rear (3mm). On this track, this gives good rotation without sacrificing stability. |
