Tech Report – 1/12 GT @Masters of Foam 2025
After getting many requests about my 1/12GT setup from Masters of Foam 2025, I decided to share not just the set-up itself but also a few extra tech notes. Hopefully, this helps other drivers in this awesome class understand why I went with these settings.
Track & Key Challenge
This year’s layout was one of the toughest I’ve driven - especially the super-tight chicane under the driver stand.
The biggest key to my race was making the car easy and forgiving through that section, which allowed me to run all my qualifiers and finals clean with almost no mistakes.
Main Setup Highlights
Here’s what made the biggest difference for me:
Very little front droop – kept the car flat and stable, less body roll.
Less caster than usual (only 3°) – made the steering smoother and less reactive.
Very little camber (only 0.5°) - made the steering less reactive
Harder oil in the front kingpins 20k – slowed the front response for more control.
Minimal front additive – short timing and small area to avoid oversteer.
Short steering links – helped the car stay precise but calm.
These tweaks really paid off - I could attack the chicane confidently without fighting the car.
Long Sweepers & Stability
To gain more corner speed in the long sweepers, I added two front suspension braces and ran a harder rear bump spring. That combo gave me better off-power stability and more on-power steering.
For extra balance, I:
Moved the battery as far forward as possible (no front battery stop, secured with double tape).
Switched to 1mm wheel axles – made the car feel smoother and more “rounded.”
Set the car to max width allowed by the rules.
Tires & Additive
As always, I went with MobGums tires - perfect grip and super easy to drive. The wheel quality is amazing and survives even big hits
Huge thanks to Markus Mobers for helping me dial in the right tire hardness and diameter for my driving style.
Fronts: very light additive, short time.
Rears: 20 minutes of additive - perfect for the high-grip track.
The car had awesome corner speed, great balance, and never felt stuck in the turns
