I spent 2 days running my XRAY X12'26 at the GDC Indoor Track in Foshan, China. The track is a permanent carpet track of quite big size, which uses ETS style carpet. It's the same batch of carpet that will be used for a completely new track for next year's IFMAR WC event.

The car handled brilliantly from the first lap and was a true joy to drive! I hereby attach my set-up sheets for both car and Hobbywing Technology electronics! Couple of things which I liked for open modified:

  • Short rear pivot improved on-power steering
  • Used upstops for the side links to limit travel of the suspension. More info here.
  • Battery is as far forward as it can go (removed the battery backstop) to improve drivability
  • More caster than the kit setting. Caster is faster!
  • Open modified is great to drive on a big track like this, with plenty of room to stretch out, as well when forgiving curbs are used, such as the Tetsujin drift curbs.
