I spent 2 days running my XRAY X12'26 at the GDC Indoor Track in Foshan, China. The track is a permanent carpet track of quite big size, which uses ETS style carpet. It's the same batch of carpet that will be used for a completely new track for next year's IFMAR WC event.
The car handled brilliantly from the first lap and was a true joy to drive! I hereby attach my set-up sheets for both car and Hobbywing Technology electronics!
Couple of things which I liked for open modified:
Short rear pivot improved on-power steering
Used upstops for the side links to limit travel of the suspension. More info here.
Battery is as far forward as it can go (removed the battery backstop) to improve drivability
More caster than the kit setting. Caster is faster!
Open modified is great to drive on a big track like this, with plenty of room to stretch out, as well when forgiving curbs are used, such as the Tetsujin drift curbs. |
