Friday we had 6 practice runs wich where only 5min each so no one was able to test long term test with tire saucing and speedo, motor and rollout tests wich makes everything a lot more complicated for me. As I drive 1:12 only 1-3x a year it was a big challange do understand the new plattform and work in the right direction. However after Rd3 I feld I had a good basic and just tested the different Hot-Race tire compounds. For mod my choice was the T-Foam, sauced 3/4 front for only a few min in front and 1hour rear.
Saturday. The first 8min run of the event was in seeding. As there was a technical inspection now I had a big mistake in the car. I used the old rear axle (as it wasnt worn out). Totally forgot that it has a different width. Means my car was to wide. After running back in the pits I opened the rear Axle bag of the car and changed the parts fast as possible. Made it in time but now the car was super edgy. I found out that it was way to narrow now. Yea... so called "pros" make stupid mistakes too hehe 😉 For seeding rd2 I shimmed the rear axle 2.5mm each side to me on the max allowed width and and to make sure I also just sauced the front half now. Turns out it works even better as before. I was able to get the practice TQ based on 3 fastest laps.
Qualifiers: Well this was a act. With a hard chargin Simon and also a very fast Jasmin and Teammate Markus it was a hard decission between giving 100% and might crash or slow down a bit and drive more safe and carefull at lapping. It turns out it was the right call wich might dont give me the fastest laptime every run but I was able to TQ all 5 quallie runs.
Finals: Without under oder overrating it... my car worked very well from the start and I took a advantage that it seems like the cars behind me had a little struggle in the beginning so I was able to pull away and bring it home.
In this post I want to shout out also to all my "enemies" for the congratulations even hey had struggle here and there. Also even more to be honest with each other. We might have different car sponsors but he same electronic or tire sponsor for example. There was no hidings or secrets between us. Thats how it should be !
