Tech info from The 2025 Snowbird Nationals!

Regarding my XRAY X12'25, I have to say that it was the best handling 1/12 car that I've driven on black carpet to date! Some of the key set-up details were:

  • No side braces for more mid corner steering and a more forgiving feel.
  • Quite a lot of front droop and little rear droop, for the max. amount of on-power steering.
  • Very little camber and caster, as well as little Ackermann gave the perfect amount of corner speed while retaining good drivability.
  • Hotrace Tyres Factory T-foam on standard rim gave superior, long lasting grip throughout the race.
About my Hobbywing Technology and Team EAM, Inc electronic setup:
  • I used a 5.5T G3 motor in my TC for the first time, and was amazed by the improved drivability (as a result of the reduced punch over a 5.0T motor).
  • I used a titanium 12.3mm rotor (HW30820402) in my G3 3.5T motor in the 1/12 open modified class for the first time. This rotor improved runtime (efficiency) with an equal amount of power.
  • My EAM 4200 (2S shorty) and 8500 (1S) packs provided exceptional runtime and consistency in both classes.
