Masters Of Foam 2024 winning set-up sheets!
Thanks to Hobbywing Technology for the faultless 12th scale power package. By far the most used electronics in the class! We geared down from 34T to 33T to make the motor run a little cooler, and the endbell timing was also reduced slightly compared to my initial setting.
Nosram 8100 1S packs provided consistent power all throughout the long 8 minute runs with super low IR values and high capacity!
Hotrace Tyres Factory soon to be released T foam kept the car stuck to the carpet! This is a great all-around foam which provides more grip and low wear for all carpet surfaces (including black CRC carpet). To be released soon on a SOFT and STANDARD wheel! Stay tuned for more info.
Trusty LensBodies Ponente provided great steering with lots of rear grip as usual.
Alexander is running X12'25 in close to kit configuration, but made the following changes to adapt to the medium-high grip ETS carpet conditions of this event:
- Optional gold rear bump spring to improve the responsiveness of the car. 1mm side braces, to improve mechanical grip. Alexander is also using the less trailing axles, to smoothen out the car's handing, and to improve corner speed.
- To make the car more forgiving to drive, Alexander went up in front kingpin lube to 20K, as well as 12K side tubes to further calm down the reaction of the car. Bump steer shimming was increased, and the front caster was decreased to make the front end less dominant. Finally, the rear was widened to max legal width to improve mid corner stability.
- Alexander is using the HUDY adjustable servo saver with the max amount of Ackermann (shortest possible steering links).
- The battery is mounted in the max forward position for the best possible drivability. The side braces were disconnected from the rear brace to help steering in the slow corners of this technical carpet track.
- Pivot position was moved to the most forward one, to make the car easier to drive, especially on-power.
