- Comments on ULP Shock Tower -

I just want to share some of the stuff that I've been testing recently during my sessions at Pista de Radiomodelismo do Monsanto. I really like the optional Low ULP Shock Towers (part numbers 301961 and 302961). These shock towers lower the shocks by 4mm. Keep in mind when mounting these that you need to raise your rear body holder by 1 hole compared to what you would run with the standard rear shock tower!

Furthermore, keep in mind that even with the shocks fully stood up with the low ULP towers, the wheel rate is still softer than when using the middle hole on the standard ULP towers. When going to the lower position on the arms, it effectively changes the shock angle to a more leaned in position.

I believe that the reason why some drivers initially didn't like the low ULP towers is because they only tried them with the middle hole. I can really recommend trying them with the shocks fully stood up. The benefits from the lower CG is very much noticeable. The car stays flatter, has more corner speed, and just feels really nice to drive. I did this testing on low grip asphalt with HUDY A1-36 tires, as well as Volante V8 tires. But I can recommend them for both carpet and asphalt, and for other tires as well.

I didn't make any other changes together with the shock tower change, except for going to the fully stood up holes on the towers front and rear. I did consider going to stiffer springs though, because of the wheel rate still being slightly softer, but I didn't test that yet. I was using 2.5-2.8 front and 2.7 rear springs for my testing so far.

I also think they make the car look really nice. See pictures for reference!
