Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE breaking down setup details, picking through the things that seem to work and why... so here is my RC MAKER SP2 car and setup I used on the weekend taking out the WA State Championship win. I know the WA Champs are certainly not the biggest or most prestigious, but its my home state and I love it
Team Zombie Power
Using the new Zombie EVOIII motor with the torque rotor, Zombie Fan and Fan booster. More usable power, more top speed than ive ever had before and the motor never ran hotter than 65deg all weekend long - minimal power fade even with a solid 4 hotlaps before a run so 6 minutes of driving!
High Roll Centres and Long Links made the car feel more direct in the initiation of the corners, but overall smooth to drive for me, I like HRC here as i feel like I can let the car flow naturally; the long links helped smooth that our even more especially with the "bite" that the surface at WCMRC produces, without sacrificing corner speed
Heavier front swaybar, taller inner upper arms ballstuds and taller bump steer shims - all changes in made in practice and qualifying to help the car feel smoother on new tires. The first minute on new tires can be punishing when the car grips up and snaps mid way through long and high speed corners - these changes helped that feeling so I could push hard right from the tone on new tires. Surprisingly the car had minimal dropoff into the 2nd run, and i set the lap record on 2nd run tires
INOV8 RC Bronze Alloy screws - because they look sick
JRC Dynamics App - i used the app for the weekends racing, focusing on reading each run and tracking my setup changes with the lap time variance being broken down into something more tangible than just reading off the results - a great addition to your pit space
