Axxelerate Arena Carpet Test in ETS conditions - almost
I drive all the time using Roadstick carpet as additive, as I was "unsure" if my V4 additive was the proper "last" release.
This might have caused some issues with the dirt, as we were collecting a terrible quantity of dirt on the wheels.
We drove on 7 minutes schedule, Swiss way. Last minute was a PITA as the dirt collection on the tyres was crazy.
2 cars, we use half bottle of Swiss cleaner... unreal. And the rires were still dirty.
But in the 5 minutes... It was ok. Was a sort of time check... Tail happy? = 6.5 minutes mark.
Let's summarize.
Basically I drove the car as per the box. No special gimmicks.
I was needing to test:
a custom made servo,
caster inserts 2° and 4°
different rear suspension link.
Thijs, I try also you upper arm solution: a big NoGo on carpet. Unless your reactions are faster than Flash ones... But looks cool as hell
Caster inserts.
2° are better for carpet, better to keep the car close to the kerbs. Just easier to keep the lap times in a very close window.
Custom servo: Interesting thing. 15-16kg according the voltage ESC setting with a 0.06 time.
Big plus... 260mm long wire. No need for extension Alu case...
Different rear supension link. Not "faster" but way easier for the ride height.
Cool point, rear ride height will be "separate" from shock lenght, which is worth (for me) another 10 points!
Other than that. In the weekend I'll clean the cars and, very much like, I'll make some other extra remarks and post some extra pics.
Was important for me get a run in carpet "ETS" condition, with a box G42.
Of course every one will have to found his "bespoken" setting. But is pretty decent, straight out the box.
Springs. In the front I drove box F silvers / R yellow while Marco test both silver and blue at the front. No big difference, just personal taste. Probably blue are easier when dealing with the kerbs. |
