Kimihiko Yano and Team
CRC Japan are pride to introduce the Team CRC Gen-X JSPEC.
This car was developed by Kimihiko Yano, Team CRC Japan and in
cooperation with Team CRC in the USA. Kimihiko Yano and Team CRC Japan
get the car late July and they just start some testing this prototype.
The car presented here is not the final version, those specifications
are temporaries and may change
during testing to define the best compromise.
The main Kimihiko Yano and Team CRC Japan's aim is to optimize the
original car on asphalt track, main racing surface in Japan.
This chassis will not necessarily put on the market from CRC.
Development concept
Rear traction rise
Chassis is softer than the standard car, in all road surfaces soft
correspondence
Front and rear adjustment of ABP
Degree of freedom rise due to change in center shock mounting angle
While the corner incising sharply, the
corner ring which is the sense of security with good rear traction,
the corner exit is faster with this increase of rear traction!!
Difference with the standard
generation X:
- Chassis thickness is 2.21mm
- Rear pivot ball moves 3 rear
- Wheelbase extended for 3mm
- Front and rear battery position:
Battery can be moved backward form about
5mm
- Antenna post position relatively to the rear
pivot ball
Antenna post move head from about 6mm. Pod top
pate modified as appropriate
Center shock pivot position moves forward
- Side link extension position can be adjusted with an additional
hole located 10mm forward, to reduce the effect of the pod motion
and steering effect in curve
- Servo moved closer to the front end
* F tread normal is the same.
* Tweak Plate uses normal.
Gen-X JSPEC

Damper installation position on the
upper plate moves to the front from normal. as consequence, degree of
freedom of pitching damper angle improves.

The servo hole even with KO servo has
become the right on-board possible hole, you use the servo
mount of new model and the front hole will be used for JR
servo, as for KO servo, the rear hole will be used, the servo axis
must be maintained the same position. This modification is done to
gain some space for a Brushless ESC.

Testing report
Total testing days: 3 @ Raji Heaven,
Nagoya. As it can be seen on pictures, this is an indoor track quite
wide, close to what you can get in the Yatabe arena. This is an
asphalt track so with moderate grip but constant during all
testing sessions, which is nice.
Still, 3 days and it is short test
period, but because quality and the problematical point etc on the
prototype we introduce, it announces in a way, interim report.
First, a standard Gen-X was running to
get some comparison.
Also completely another car about
feels, had become the car where quality is different. Concretely, when
pulling out the throttle with entering a corner, in order to load the
front tire at a stroke, you were confused to the hypersensitive
movement. Due to sufficient rear grip, if you are used to, running
fast is possible but control is very difficult and the running
constantly was not possible.
When one cause of this hypersensitive
movement after that was ascertained with the test and added
improvement it was settled and send became easy.
It was the plate where as for the
problematical point quality of the plate is inferior to durability and
is easy to exfoliate. In this car which does not have a T bar, fading
of the top plate and the rear bottom plate of the especially important
part is quick, marketing with the this way plate in everyone of the
user becomes also burden that and, efficiency cannot be maintained in
long life, it judged, order did the revised edition of latest
prototype at the CRC corporation.
In each case it announces the concrete
improvement point, but until agreement goes, thinking, that you repeat
improvement, would like to keep to make good ones it increases. It
catches already for a while to sale, but, it does not sell the kind of
car which betrays the expectation of everyone. To completion waiting
in the pleasure.
This time, ESC was changed on another
JSPEC prototype.
Up-to-date
ESC of Advanced Electronics 5.1is used here. It received the
request for the test in March 2007, and compared with other up-to-date
ESC while it tested.

This ESC is highly suitable for 1:12
scale car as it is small size and lightweight, the ESC switch is built
in by the substance, will be also the cords clear and the packaging
and the like likes and increases. Also efficiency and feeling are
essential to an ESC were my taste. As for feeling and the powerful
impression of reacting to linear in punch and throttle operation in
the low-speed limits there is no something to say, is.
But, when the powerfull motor is used,
ESC generate heat and that's became a matter of concern . When
the case is conveyed to the Advanced Electronics Corporation the
marketing version which used up-to-date FET being sent, when it tries
testing promptly, you could hold down heat generation beautifully,
without problem completely you could use even at this hot time. Also
efficiency rise was done and by up-to-date FET also fuel economy
became good.
Because the high performance of this
ESC, not only 1/12, you show excellent efficiency even with other
category that you think whether with drive frequency modification.
The report is ending here.
The Yatabe Arena will host the Japan Championship meeting soon and we
will see what will be the result there
Many thanks to Kimihiko Yano and Team
CRC Japan!
