For the MISTC event, we ran Sweep 36R3PGMX tires, and overall grip was relatively high. As for the size and layout of the track, it was a small/medium sized track with a pretty technical layout.
I started with my baseline setup from my local track, which was already competitive. However, I noticed that the rear end had excessive roll, leading to instability, particularly during entry into the high speed sweeper at the end of the straight. This resulted in a few erratic spin-outs.
To address this and better suit my aggressive driving style , I made the following adjustments:
-----------------------------------------------
Setup Changes
1. Rear Lower Arm Roll Centre
0.5mm -> 1.0mm
* Increased rear roll centre to reduce rear roll and improve stability on corner entry.
2. T-Brace Screws Configuration
* Switched from the two front screws to the two side screws
* Helps stiffen rear lateral flex, giving a more planted and predictable rear.
3. Front Hub Shims (Above Hub)
2.5mm -> 2.0mm
* Slightly Lesser Camber gain, to reduce "hanging" feeling mid corner
4. Rear Hub Shims (Above Hub)
2.5mm -> 2.3mm
5. Rear Upper Link Inner Shims
0mm -> 0.3mm
* Minor adjustment to add a tad bit of roll for slightly more mid corner rotation
