I tested a few different setup directions this weekend, and in the end my "concept setup" worked the best for me
This setup is purely based on ideas I got after the TOS test a few weeks ago.
Basically everything is a bit different to what I used before. The main goal was to get a car which is more stable overall and allow me to "send it" with full commitment, without the worry to lose the rear end.
Some areas of the setup are close to my WC setup (lower rollcenters, downstops, spring settings), and others are just based on theory and experience combined, like bumpsteer, damper oil, toplink shims etc.
I have to say the car was really really good and gave me very good feedback and balance overall.
Stable, responsive and quick! Exactly what I was looking for.
Awesomatix team manager Max Machler is rocking the new A800RR in the Pro Stock class at ETS RD1 in Apeldoorn. The very successful A800R from Awesomatix received a fine upgrade which further improved the car.
The A800RR includes the newly developed D4 dampers, which allow seamless external switching between linear, semi-progressive and progressive damping modes without the need for a complete damper rebuild. In addition, a new spool reduces rotating mass and allows the use of identical pulleys for both the differential and spool, optimizing maintenance and performance. Previously only available as optional upgrades, the SPR23-R shock absorbers, AM180EVO2 steering arms and AM23-1 rear control arms are now standard in the kit, improving durability and overall performance of the car.
The newly developed AM278-EVO bulkheads introduced with the SCC steel chassis conversion kit are included as standard in the kit, making the A800RR “steel-ready” for racers looking to upgrade in the future. The new suspension geometry introduced with the A800R platform remains unchanged, but when combined with the newly developed D4 shocks, offers unrivaled adjustability with minimal bolt-on effort.
The car Max is using is equipped with the Awesomatix SCC Steel Chassis Conversion set, C127S-G1 and C127-G1 Topdecks, FSS Steering Set. SB3x5AL Alloy Screws, Awesomatix sample titanium ballstuds, C07RF Carbon Front Bumper Plate, MXLR Front & Rear Body Support, and an MXLR LW Flex Bumper.
