ETS Rd.1 of the new 21/22 season took place at the beautiful Arena33 track in Andernach. We had great fun in the pits and I enjoyed the close battles on track, even though I was missing some pace during most practice runs. For the qualifiers I tried some changes and car and driver got better every run.
After starting P4 into the finals with only limited opportunities of overtaking I tried the unconventional way with my tire strategy and in the end it paid off. I could finish on the podium with P3.
Congrats to Jan and Alex for their strong result, especially Alex was absolutely flawless all Weekend!
This was my 10th ETS with an awesomatix chassis and I can't thank the whole team enough for making every race a pleasure! I am super confident we will come back even stronger at the next races.
At the same time I want to give a massive shootout to helping hands Dominik Reile! After two years of formula racing he decided to run the highly competitive 17.5 class for the upcoming season and had a great first race with a P3 finish! Well done my friend, I hope I could finally give some help back!
I don't want to leave the shocking news of the flood out of this post as it showed me, that RC racing is the best hobby in the world, but it's for sure not as important as most of us - including myself - think. So many people lost all of their properties or even had to pay with their lives. Therefore I want to use this post to send my condolences to all those people affected.
As always I want to thank my sponsors for the trust and support:
R5 RC (will do my best to run racepaint next time^^)
