Team Associated's Factory Team RC10L4 Oval, the first "4-Series" car, has been developed from input from the top oval racers in the country, like Daryl Silva, 2001 Snowbirds Nationals winner and TQ and Sean Cochran, who debuted the L4 Oval by winning the 2002 NORRCA National Carpet Oval Championship. The L4 Oval is built on the Factory Team graphite "bias-tray" chassis, previously available only as an upgrade kit. This chassis features a moveable 6-slot battery tray for shifting the weight of the batteries forward and backward as needed. An optional 4-cell tray is also available. The L4 Oval also includes numerous other Factory Team components, such as blue aluminum nuts, screws, and ballstuds, blue right-side motor mounting bulkhead, blue aluminum inline front axles, graphite front bumper with lightweight foam on top for additional impact resistance, and more. It's the most advanced, competition-bred oval kit ever offered by Team Associated.
The L4 Oval chassis features a moveable 6-slot battery tray for shifting the weight of the batteries forward and backward in .15" increments, and from the extreme left to nearly center.
The suspension of the L4 Oval is handled by a .075 fiberglass symmetrical T-bar and dampened by three blue-anodized aluminum oil-fill shocks. A threaded-body VCS Macro Shock with a hard coated, wear-resistant Unobtainium shock shaft is used in the center, with two VCS Micro shocks used for side-to-side dampening. The center shock is the VCS Macro Shock, a lightweight shock with Team Associated's exclusive Volume Compensating System for the smoothest possible, most consistent dampening. A full assortment of different springs are available for both the VCS Micro and Macro Shocks for greater tuning options.
The rear pod of the L4 Oval now comes standard set at the full offset position, and the rear axle/differential assembly consists of all-new IRS (Irrgang Racing Service) parts. The graphite "Pro" rear axle features a locking D-ring differential -- no pinning needed. The right diff hub and the double-clamp left hub are also blue anodized IRS components.
Team Associated’s new featherweight (approx. 1/5 oz.), high-density foam bumper (not shown) protects and supports the front of your oval car’s body, and provides excellent chassis protection from the high-speed impacts of oval racing. It comes with the body post holes already in place. The L4 Oval's bumper is a completely new design.
At the front of the L4 Oval, Team Associated's race-proven Dynamic Strut front suspension has been augmented for oval racing with IRS' adjustable aluminum front arm mounts, which provide 6-position mounting of the upper (camber) arms to fine-tune the L4 Oval's roll center, increasing or decreasing sensitivity to steering input. Factory Blue titanium turnbuckles are also included for their high strength and low weight.

Oval racing has never been more competitive, so Team Associated developed the new RC10L3 Oval with the help of some of the top oval racers in the world, including Frank Polimeda, multi-time National Champion and Duane and Darryl Silva, working in conjunction with chief designer Cliff Lett. The new RC10L3 Oval takes advantage of all the latest racing technology, and includes many components as standard features that were previously only available as expensive aftermarket items. With the combination of the RC10L3 Oval's wide range of tunability, "Factory Team" components, and Associated's winning history behind it, the 10L3 Oval will be your best choice to conquer any oval track.
Oval racing tracks vary greatly, from the small, flat carpet ovals to the high-banked concrete super-speedways, and the RC10L3 Oval was designed with "Total Tuning Flexibility" to master any type of oval track. The super-strong, all-carbon graphite chassis features wider battery placement slots, allowing the flat-track racer to move the batteries out over 1/2" more to the left than the previous-generation RC10L20. The chassis is also pre-drilled and countersunk for a fifth body mount (to support the hood of a NASCAR-style body) and for two different wheelbase configurations, allowing you to shorten your RC10L3 Oval's wheelbase over 1/4" for stock class racing.
The rear suspension is an all-new three-shock design. Two of Team Associated's super-smooth VCS Micro Shocks handle the side-to-side dampening and tweak, eliminating the need for tweak screws. The larger center shock is the new VCS Macro Shock, a lightweight, full-composite shock with Team Associated's exclusive Volume Compensating System for the smoothest possible, most consistent dampening. A full assortment of different springs are available for both the VCS Micro and Macro Shocks for greater tuning options.
The rear pod is set up to allow two different offset positions. For flat track racing, the pod can be offset .275" to the left by simply switching the mounting position on the lower graphite pod plate and using the second set of shock-mount ball stud holes on the upper graphite pod plate, along with the optional #8459 longer right wheel hub. This provides tremendous steering in the middle of the corner, which is so important on flat tracks.
Associated's new, improved "Factory Team" rear axle is also included in the kit, and its graphite-thru construction makes it the most concentric, strongest and lightest rear axle design on the market today. The left wheel hub has a new "clamping" design, and both rear hubs have been redesigned and milled out for substantial weight savings. There's no need to buy expensive, aftermarket hubs anymore--these new hubs are unsurpassed for the tightest manufacturing tolerances and concentricity, and are made of the lightest, strongest aircraft-quality T-6 aluminum available.

Jaco tires are the choice of many world-class oval an onroad racers, and due to an exclusive agreement with Pro-Line Racing, Team Associated is able to offer the 10L3 Oval with specially-selected compound Jaco tires mounted on their lightweight composite wheels at no extra cost. For those oval racers seeking an extra performance edge, Associated also offers several aftermarket hop-ups, including carbon-fiber nerf wings, a carbon-fiber left bulkhead, a lightweight machined magnesium right motor mounting bulkhead, and a full "Factory Blue" aluminum screw kit.
