King Of Clubs Series, Round 1 WLRC. 19/07/20.

This was my first competitive race meeting of the year and only the third time out for my 3 Racing Advance 20M.
With a very wet track I decided to sit out the practice run even though my cars 100% waterproof. Having raced at WLRC many times I felt it better not to chance fate and worked on a wet setup and checked the car over.

R1 and a 7th place in the round by round qualifying so a good start, if a little moist for most.
R2 saw me take 8th place which moved me to 4th overall.
R3 and the track was now dry, so off with the wet tyres and onto a new set of Volante. This run was a little disappointing with a spin on lap 1 with the new tyres taking a few laps to bed in.
R4 and I was getting more confident with the car and made a few changes. An improvement on my FTQ and 9th place.

So after a very enjoyable qualifying session, run faultlesly by the WLRC and KoC crew I had to settle for pole position in the B Final. I was joint on points for 10th in the A but missed out by 0.70 and a lower round point score by 1 point, so near yet so far.

17.5 B Final.

With only 1 final we were in for some great racing. I led the field away at the start tone and had a nice lead, but coming up from 3rd place was Shaun who was on a mission after some bad luck in qualy, normally a regular A finalist.
I made a small error letting him through but managed to get past him coming onto the straight, as I excited the D, a nice move if I do say so myself lol. Later into the race another small error from me, this saw Shaun take the well deserved win.

I was a little disappointed not to make the A Final as the car was getting better all day with the setup changes made. But after looking at the final results I was more than happy.
3 seconds off of my PB, even with 4 seconds of mistakes. The time I did in the final was on par with 4th place in the A Final also. So lots of positives to take away from the weekend and not a bad showing for the £279 RRP, 3 Racing Advance 20M.
