III - Brushless System
4 - Examples
of brushless system installed on cars
Sensored
brushless system:
M2max
installs a brushless system on a 1:12 pan car. The brushless system is a
Team Novak GTB with a Velociti 5.5. He gets ride off the ESC fan because
the ESC stay cold - the weather helps with a 7°C as outside temperature.

Sensorless
brushless system:

had prepared a car to beat the speed world record with an Serpent Impact,
1/10 scale. The car has been largely modified to receive batteries and
motors. The motor is a special command with larger wires diameter. More
details available here.

Team Tekin shows some 1:18
& 1:16 cars fitted with brushless systems.

IV - Conclusion
The brushless system has been widely covered here with the majors
manufacturers of those equipment. More probably exist, this article have
no pretension to give all details about every bit on the concerned area.
The point to remind is the use or no use of sensor in the system. At the
present day, and due to change is race regulations, sensored brushless
system are allowed in racing, sensorless equipment have another
orientation but they could probably enter soon in the competition area in
favor of rules change.
Competition or not, brushless system have some strong points comparatively
to brushed system. The low/zero maintenance is the strongest point for
every experienced drivers, that allows to train with a constant power
plant system and to focus on others parameters. For club drivers,
performances as well as low maintenance are also highly interesting to
have longer run, and have fun.
But do not forget that beginners will run first low power motor to learn
how to tune a car, to set up the gearing and to understand all others
basics with simplicity. Experience growing, a brushless system will
increase the fun on driving a well tuned car, with a constant drive and
more consitancy.
