Paul Gill - I run my esc velcroed to a piece of lead and it slides in and hold tight under the rear bulkhead. The lead is long enough to keep the shorty pack pushed up against the stop at the front and when I want to change anti squat I just pull the lead and esc out together and its nice and easy.

The shorty down the centre with mid mount provides a very stable car and make it even easier to drive. As Anthony said, Josh Pain tried this setup at the Tasmanian State titles here a few months ago and it worked wonders.

Most of us in Western Australia are running the car with the shorty down the centre on a sugared outdoor clay track. When I was running the shorty sideways, I was getting a lot of rear tyre jumping/bouncing on fast sweeping corners.. After switching to the shorty down the centre, this was completely fixed.

It requires a small modification of the rear mount battery side holders in order for it to fit.
