X-Factory’s Wouter Wynen wins 6th Leg Of Belgian Series
Bruno Heremans has big lead in Championship

The astro turf track at Merchtern was the scene for the 6th leg of the combined Belgian/Netherlands Championship series on Saturday Sept 15. X-Factory’s newest European Team driver Wouter Wynen won the event Team driver Bruno Heremans third; privateer John Debacquer drove his X–6 Squared to fourth. So it’s a win for X Factory and three of the top four.

Wynen and Heremans qualified 2nd and 3rd respectively when three rounds of qualifying were over. Privateers John Debacquer and Arjan Van De Graaf also put their X–6 Squared buggies in The Show.

Bruno broke a ball stud early in A-1 so the race was on between Wouter and TQ Wesley Van Helmond.. They swapped the lead back and forth until, coming out of the final corner it was a drag race to the line. Wouter won by 1/10 second.

In A-2 Wesley had a 3-4 second lead most of the race. Wouter made an early mistake and began working his way through the pack until, on the last lap, Van Helmond made a mistake, had to be marshaled, and Wynen roared through to take the win and the meeting. Wouter also won A-3 to dominate the mains, and Heremans’ second in A-3 put him third on the podium.

Bruno Heremans’ third at Merchtern gives him a commanding lead in the Belgian Championship. Only John Debacquer, driving an X–6 Squared can beat Elvo; to pull it off John must TQ and win the final round with Heremans third or worse. So X Factory wins the Belgian Championship for sure, it’s just a matter of which driver.
