Here are the mods and electronics I placed:

SMC 4900 Hard Case Saddle Lipo with padded foam and velcro on the bottom (guarantee to stay in place and not hit the shaft)
Velcro on the battery area
B44 battery posts - all 4 areas
TRF501X battery plates - both sides
Lead weights on battery area and battery plates - total of 154 grams (5.5 oz)
Airtronics servo
Speed Passion GT Low Profile Brushless ESC
Losi 8.5 Brushless Motor
Gear ratio - 9.23 using 19 tooth pinion
Spektrum DSM Receiver

The track was technical with lost of turns and decent number of jumps including the big one that happens to be the single-table top (equivalent to a double) which I cleared without going full throttle and landed smoothly at times.
