Righty then, me and Marius have worked on a setup for the SRX-2 MM on astro (ignore what it says on the link, it is an outdoor setup). On Sunday I was at a BRCA Regional at Southport's outdoor track, which has recently been re-surfaced, and I also ran at Kidderminster on Wednesday with Lee Martin. Southport is a very quick track (it's mostly a huge straight) that mixes abrasive smooth astro with very bumpy rutted sections. The reason it's a difficult track is that even the rutted sections are high speed, so you need to strike a balance of opposites. Running this setup took over a second off my fastest lap time from the weekend before - it might feel front-endy because that's how I tend to like my cars, but overall it's huge improvement on the things I was trying before - I didn't do the car justice at all, only making the front of the D Final with some bad luck in the heats, but the car had the pace for the B Final easily (I even had passers-by commenting on how quick the car looked on track). At Kidderminster, despite it being a much tighter track, it felt fairly good - I definitely think there's more to come from the car. So, if anyone has any high grip and high speed bumpy tracks, give this a try... hopefully you'll notice a difference.
