I got a chance to run stock buggy this past weekend for the first time. Before showing up on raceday, I literally only had had two packs run through the car. Mainly just to make sure it tracked straight, jumped well and was geared properly. I started with the same setup that I'm currently running on my mod car. The track was medium (large for indoor) size with a high bite clay(ish) type surface. The flow was constant, hardly any major slow down areas. Lap times were in the 24-28 sec range. After a few practice sessions I came to the conclusion that the car was pretty good as is. I just made a few changes to control a little (tippy) feeling that forced me to slow down in a couple sections of the layout. In Q1 I set TQ that held up for the rest of the day. The car felt great so I left it alone. There were two sections of triples on the track that I felt (for me) was faster and more consistent to just double-single. I probably could've put another tooth on the pinion and went for it, but I didn't need to. My esc is mounted on the chassis 12mm behind the shorty pack. Also the transponder is on top of the servo. Thanks
