USA: Kirkwood reports on Spyder and Cobra wins

110 racers entered into competition at Reo Raceway’s 2013 Turkey Classic November 30’s during the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. Reo Raceway opened in 2006 and has since offered a unique racing surface that differs from the norm of highly packed surfaces found at most tracks in the region. Racers there are presented with a slightly less packed topsoil surface that has a layer of dust on top that changes throughout the day. Serpent USA regional driver’s Dan Reino and Jared Kirkwood was in attendance racing their Serpent Cobra 811-E 2.0 and Serpent Spyder SRX-2 buggies.

On Reo Raceway’s tight track there isn’t much room use the power of the 1/8th electric buggy so having a car with good low speed steering and corner speed is a must. Dan was able to find what he needed to qualify 2nd in the class and finish 1st!

Dan used Serpent Options:600681 – 811E Radiotray Set Light alu/carbon

In 2wd buggy Jared spent the day fine tuning his Serpent Spyder SRX-2 for the dusty and bumpy conditions. Not having the buggy on these looser conditions before he found the car very stable and developing great grip with the only 2wd buggy to turn a 20 sec lap. The locals offered up a great charge in the main but Jared was able to take advantage of his TQ and finish 1st.

Jared used Serpent Options:
- 500243 – Front bulkhead alu SRX2
- 500244 – Rear Bulkhead Weight SRX2
