Shocks

Bag D, the shocks!

About 18-months ago I picked up the aluminum TLR Shock Tool Set (TLR5099) and have loved them. They don't warp or bend like the molded set does and feels great in the hand.

Here you can see the revision to the lower spring perch. The taller spring perch should help keep the spring from popping off changing the handling mid-run.

The shocks now feature a new X-ring design on the seals. Per Horizon Hobby's recommendation I soaked these for 24-hours before installing them in the shocks

The shock parts laid out and ready to be put together.

The front and rear shocks assembled. Do not over-tighten the lower shock caps as they can pinch and bind things up.

The 22 2.0 features new machined pistons. The 1.6 pistons are used on both the front and rear of the car with the stock setup.

The front shock shafts have 3mm of down-travel limiters while the rear shocks have no limiters.

Do not over-tighten the lower shock caps as they can pinch and bind things up

I love my TLR Shock Shaft Pliers. It allows me to get a great grip on the shock shaft without marring the shaft.

Pistons, shock shafts, spacers and lower eyelets installed and TLR 27.5wt oil in each.

These shocks build up super-smooth! If you need some help getting your shocks built properly check out our tutorial that will definitely help you out

The front and rear shocks mounted to the chassis. This is where I discovered the right rear upper mount was on backwards. Whoops!
