Can you confirm the emulsion shocks are cut bladders?

Also you indicate 0.75mm spacers on both top and bottom of the spindle. Does that means there is some play?

Can you please details what is the "Gnarly weight system"?

Easy bits first...
Yes - emulsion - cut bladders - I feel that they gave me better small bump initial action.

0.75 both top and bottom - yes - a little bit of play - LOL. I used the old Losi gold washers and placed 1 top and 1 bottom. It moves a little but I can't feel it on track. I got fed up of losing the little 0.5mm plastic washer every time I went to change the spindle height.

Lastly - Full Gnarly weight system. Its a weight plate system that I've designed which effectively places some weight further outboard either side of the Xcelorin stubby LiPo stick. It doesn't quite match the lateral weight distribution of a saddle pack but it's not far off. I got some 8mm square brass (65mm long) and taped it to the chassis either side of the stick. Each piece weighs almost 35g

To get to the 'full 220g gnarly' - I've then stacked 2 brass weight plates under the battery - each weighing 75g - so I can remove one or both depending on conditions. So in total, 150g under the battery + 35g on each side of the battery = 220g.

My car is a little bit like me - Heavy !!

More weight = more stability in high bite conditions. For me, I remove weight from under the battery when the conditions are lower grip - the balance of the car is not affected (that's what the side weights do for me as well) because if you place 100g under a saddle LiPo, the weight bias will move forward by 0.5%. With my weight system, I can add weight or take it away without affecting the front / rear bias - which on my car is 37% Front / 63% Rear. I like it this way but some can't seem to drive my set up at all and feel it is too loose for them...

But that's up to them - the setup is given freely for people to try - it might work but it might not - it does for me though :-)

Hope this helps.

Andy

Many thanks to Andy for both setup and additional comments.
