This Spotlight is on Jesse Granat's 2016 Roadrunners RC Golden State Championships Vintage Class Champion. This was the first year the Golden State Championships race had a Vintage Class.

Front End
#897 bearings have been added to the stock bell cranks for a smoother steering feel,#7499 FT Low Friction Ball Cups have been added for durability, and#7222 Factory Team Blue Wide Front Axles were used for some extra bling. Rear End
All the hinge pins have been glued to prevent them from sliding out during a run. This is done by applying a Very small drop of Team Associated medium#1597 CA glue to the area of the arm where the E-Clip touches the plastic.#91337 Team Associated 12mm Big Bore White springs are used to slightly soften the rear end for more rear traction. Only steel screws are used on the car for durability and weight, as a heavier car is a more stable car, per Jesse.

Inside Front End
#1403 Factory Team Titanium Turnbuckles with#7499 FT Low Friction Ball Cups replace the stock steel part for strength. The#1366 Factory Team 25T Servo Horn was used for durability. The three#1595 FT Chassis Weights are placed on the nose plate where the body mount used to be to help keep the RC10's nose down while jumping and to add on-power steering.

Inside Rear End
Jesse uses the#91531 B5M Wing Mounts instead of the stock wing wire/wing tubes. Jesse likes to be able to quickly swap the rear wings during a race to help fine-tune the car's handling. These can be used with the stock rear shock tower by drilling four holes in the tower and securing the mounts with steel screws.

Body, Wing, and Tires
Jesse chooses to use Pro-Line tires and wings, but prefers the look and performance of the stockTurbo Mirage body andwheels. When Jesse started racing back in 1993, he raced the original RC10 Team Car and Worlds Car and always loved RCPS (an RC parts company owned by the current Team Associated CEO, Cliff Lett). For the Golden State Championships, the Pro-Line Electron tire in X2 compound provided a ton of traction as well as great wear characteristics. In fact, Jesse only used one set of the Electron X2 tires throughout the whole two-day event. The Turbo Mirage body was painted by Ventura County local Matt Armstrong of RC1 Paints and the custom stickers were done by Scott Guerber from ComplexInk.

Electronics
Jesse uses a Reedy#27002 800z ESC for smooth power and the Reedy#254 17.5 Mach 3 motor to make sure the car was fast on the large outdoor track. For optimum punch throughout the race, Jesse chose the Reedy#27300 Zappers 6000mah LiPo, charged on his Reedy#27200 1216-C2 Dual AC/DC Competition Balance Charger.
