Report from Ulrich Rasmussen
Event Name: Belgian GP
Event Location: Park of Relst
Event Date(s): July 4, 2015 to July 5, 2015

The legendary Belgian GP at the MBV Kampenhout was held this past weekend. The race has been held since 1989 in the nice Park of Relst were the track is located. A serious race with top drivers from France, UK, and other European countries was yet held in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with a festival going on in the park at the same time. Team Associated Jesper Rasmussen attended the race for his second time, participating in both 2WD and 4WD.

Saturday was the 2WD event with more than 80 drivers. After qualifying, Jesper had tie point with Tom Cockerill and Nico Risser. Jesper took pole position due to the fastest round individually.

Finals was very close. Cockerill showed why he had won the Belgian GP seven times before. Jesper did not have luck on his side and ended fourth in the first two legs. With a clean victory in the third leg he could secure an overall Q3rd place.

Sunday was 4WD day and the warm weather continued. However, the weather forecast wasn't great news for the competitors as rain and thunder could be expected to the finals. Fortunately, the rain stayed away.
Jesper was running strong setting the pace right from start by TQ'ing all four rounds of the round-by-round qualifying system. On top of this he also logged the fastest lap of the race with 25.1 seconds on the clock.

At the final round of qualifying, Nico Risser managed to find more speed and was closer to Jesper. So for the finals it developed into an epic battle between Jesper and Nico. Jesper managed to stay in front and took the first two A Mains, giving him the overall win.
