- Academy GV2 - Cameron Martin - Chillicothe Missouri - 13.01.2008 -

I recently ran my new GV2 last weekend at the Indoor Missouri State Champs at Chillicothe Missouri and came up with this setup.

The car was very stable, cornered well and jumped well. I cornered this setup to late and had to settle with the b main win, but my time in the B-main was top three in all three A-mains so it works. Well at least it works for me, but here it is anyways.

Front

27.5 caster
30/56 shocks with 2-inside locations and long shock ends
3-c no washers camber locations (Losi ball stud with AE rod ends)
1 washer under steering spindle (not Ackerman plate) ride height just below level
Long vla
Spindles down
1/2 oz weight in front bulkhead

Rear

Stock anti squat and toe in
25/57 shocks with 1-middle shock locations and short shock ends unthreaded 1 1/2 turns
1-b camber with 2 washers under ballstud (the ticket) with losi ballstuds and ae rod ends
Rear wing full

Misc

Speed Passion GT speed control with 6.5 motor
Spektrum pro
Core r/c 5000 mah lipo pack with lipo lead 4.3 oz weight under pack.

Car was super smooth and very easy to drive relaxed yet fast. This will be my starting setup now and adjust from there. An AE driver drove it after the race and stated that it worked better than his car in many parts of the track, another AE driver said it had more steering than his car and that he would turn that down, but liked the way it felt, and a Kyosho driver drove it and said he was driving it with low expectations, but after driving it was very surprised and thought it worked very well (all three of those drivers were in the show). My setup is different than Dave Alberico, but he runs nimh and brushed motors so the weight is different. See how you like it.
