The Euro Touring Series 2013/14 starts like the previous season ended – with a victory of Ronald Völker. Freddy Südhoff on third tops off a perfect start for LRP into the series.

LRP / Yokomo driver Ronald Völker celebrated three titles in a row in the Modified class of the prestigious ETS championship and also the 2013/14 season couldn’t have begun better for the record champion. Ronald started with his fourth victory at an ETS season opener, underlining his ambitions in a high-class field of drivers already at this early stage.

Ronald pointed the way from the beginning of the indoor event in Hrotovice, Czech Republic. He headed both, free and timed practice. In qualifying, Ronald Völker was under tough pressure from Sweden’s Alexander Hagberg and his LRP teammate Freddy Südhoff, but he impressed again by pulling a clean 4/4 that brought him TQ honours and made him the top favourite for the finals.

The first A-main proved to be a clear statement of Ronald. He won with about 1.5 seconds ahead of Marc Rheinard in second and Naoto Matsukura in third.
In the beginning of A2, the LRP / Yokomo driver pushed hard to drive to a comfortable lead of more than two seconds over his competitors. Consequently, Ronald decided to risk less to avoid making mistakes. Marc Rheinard was able to close in on the leader, but in the end the gap was too large to attack. Ronald Völker crossed the finish line first to secure an early victory at the premiere event of the season. Marc Rheinard finished second ahead of Yannic Prümper.
While the winner decided to sit out the last final, the track was clear for Freddy Südhoff. By qualifying third, Freddy had a good start into the event. He finished fourth in A1, but things went bad for Freddy in A2, so he came in ninth. A3 saw Freddy Südhoff in top shape. In a tight and thrilling race, he prevailed against Marc Rheinard who took the overall second position with three second places in the finals. Third in was Naoto Matsukura. With his victory, Freddy secured the overall third spot on the podium.

The Stock class was won by Jan Asmer ahead of Martin Hofer and Tobias Vogel. With Bernhard Bopp (overall fifth) and Henrik Heitsch (overall ninth), two LRP powered drivers qualified to the A-main.

Well done Ronald and Freddy! Our congratulations!
