First two and most important were the stiff chassis and upper plate. Our tracks are from big to huge and too much flex doesn't seem to work, for me at least.

After installing them, the car seems to have way less flex, but not zero, and this was proven at the track.


Next optional part was the new ver.2 servo mount. It is going to be next year that I will try this versus the flowting servo mount, as for the time being there is very limited time for practice again!But its nice:

Nitride coated shock shafts are always a very nice upgrade when you want to change your shock shafts, and along with the derlin pistons and new kyosho xrings made my shocks very smooth, and of course good looking!

The car now is really better, faster, and more stable than before, and that was proven also in last Sunday's race...

Race report

Last Sunday (23/12/12) it was the last race for 2012, and the organiser of the Greek Attiko Championship decided to make a one-race cup for 2012, the Greek Attiko Cup 2012.

The conditions were a bit tough, with 5 degrees all day. In the morning it was the 1/10 IC ATTIKO CUP that took place so as for the track to have better grip for us, the 1/10 TC. Most of the TC gyus have been at the track from early in the morning to make some practice runs before the race would start, at around 14:00.

TOP Racing team had 3 cars racing, Kostas Kakarikos, Nick Nikolakopoulos (nnick from www.rcring.eu) and me. Unfortunately, the other members of the team, as well as some other racers couldn't attend the CUP race, due to the cold conditions, and xmas mood...

When the race started, the track was better that the morning's practice runs, but still low/medium grip and very very cold!

At the first qualifying, I cruised to victory and provisional TQ.
But at the second and last qualifying, it was nnick that was faster, and after some bad performance of mine, he managed to TQ the run and the race. I was starting the finals from 2nd which was not so bad.Kostas Kakarikos had some problems during qualifying which dropped him back, but at least he made the top 10.

A1 was a cruise to victory for nnick and a dnf for me, as my transmitter's batt refused to work well(mabe because of it being too old or too cold!).

A2 was ok, as I won, making a pass on nnick and...

A3 was a little bit harder, as the sun wasn't there and after I passed nnick, I couldn't see my car and so could only cruide around the track, to see the fluo yellow-orange xray of Petros Katsikis making an easy pass on me 3 laps before the end of the run.After that I was stuck behind him as I could see his bodyshell better and drive just behind him!!! I tried to make a move on him during the last lap, but it was too dangerous and I gave up, as I had secured the win even finishing second in that run.

So, final results are:

1. Dimitrios Mitropoulos/Top photon EX
2. Dimitrios Konstantopoulos/Xray T4
3. Petros Katsikis / Xray T3

Unfortunatelly nnick and Kostas had some both some problems and only managed to finish 4th and 10th.
