Another frantastic race result at Apeldoorn, during the second round of AMCA club championship, for the Team Magic E4 RS III Plus.

Three TM cars at the start, three TM cars on the top of qualifications, and the all three on the podium ! It’s not possible to make it better, congratulation to the drivers !

Original Report from Rob Janssen:

We had our second clubrace at my local club in Apeldoorn, the Amca.

The day before; me, Richard Arts & Ronald Arts all three had time to go to the track for some test runs. Ronald again used my second car. With 3 of the same cars running we had the chance to test a lot. After a few runs I was able to do faster laps then I did in race 1 at the begin of the season so very happy with that ! Main thing that worked very well was using a gear diff in front. Also putting the rear arms a little more forward (as you told me to try) worked very well to ease the car a little more compared to race 1. At the end of the day we all three were very happy with our cars ! Ronald ended up same set-up as me, Richard a little different.

On Saturday (race day) I started to do some practise runs and run 1 felt from begin really good, same as the day before so that made me very confident for the race in the afternoon and evening. I tried a few more things, like different springs, but came back to were I started. The only 2 adjustments I felt was worth keeping was a little less rear toe-in for some more corner speed and a little thicker rear diff (3k instead of 1k). I felt the temperature was to high for such thin oil.

Q1 was a very nice start for me and both other TM drivers. We made a clean top 3 with our 3 cars. Only three doing laps under 18sec. with me doing a 17.7 and the other 2 guys a 17.9. We were able to improve our times a little in Q2 and Q3 and ended up with 3 TM cars on the first 3 spots on the grid for the finals. Really happy with that ! Same story for the finals, all three finals we filled the top 3 spots from begin to end.

Original Report From Richard Arts:

Tested a couple of options improving the setup, mainly to reduce tire wear. Car felt great overall. Tried also a diff in the front, but this did not feel much better with my setup. Rob’s setup could benefit more with a front diff. Rob and Ronald were running the same setup, so I let Ronald use my front diff.

I managed to set fasted laptime in training. But breaking in my set of race tires, they didn’t feel as good, but still OK.

Quali’s went really well, was able to follow Rob more closely than previous races. Also putting down a 24 lap run. Car was doing what I wanted, so was able to test tire additives. Mix of “special” and “ultra” working great with warmer track conditions.

Starting from 2nd spot, good traction from the line. No trouble in the first corners meant I could follow Rob building a small gap to the rest of the field. Overall A-main was pretty close in laptimes , so great racing to see for the spectators.

Great race day, and really happy with the car. Still not done with finetuning, but already really happy.
