I
always thought (or was led to believe) that 3 degrees of rear toe
was excessive and simply robbed straight-line speed. What's the
rationale for this?
The
3º of toe-in in the rear is right at the limit of the amount of toe
you would ever want to put into that setting.
I admit it seems a little excessive but so far the set-up is working
for me. I had it 2º before and the rear was unsettled going down
the straightaway at my track. The new setting has worked so far.
I'm
assuming that raising the suspension mounts by 1.5mm raises the
roll-centre. What impact does this have on the car?
The
roll center change has made the vehicle be able to carry more speed
around the corners, the EVO seems more planted through the infield.
Remember I am running a 13.5 BL motor, if your running a less
powerful motor you may not need to set your toe as aggressively as I
did. The outside track I was going to did not have a straightaway as
long the carpet track I am presently running at & I didn't need
3º of toe.
