Thursday and Friday we had open practice. The Project 4X car worked okay and I mostly worked on steering. I changed the diff to 5k from 10k and it helped for turn-in and corner speed on this relatively low grip and narrow track. We also tested a new body shell from Protoform that worked well, improved steering and grip. Other than that just focused on track time and additive testing. (We also tested the new prototype motor mount that worked well)

For qualifying I kept the 4X car the same and was 3rd in round one after Akio (Sobue) and Marc (Reinard). Very small time difference in the top 4 (1.5sec). In round 2 I used new tires again but had a mistake on lap one so saved the tires. In round 3 I was second again behind Marc. In 3rd round was second again behind Akio. This round was probably the best as I was the fastest on used tires, Akio running new tires. For that last round we changed the rear RRS link to lower position on the inside and on the outside. This gave a lot more steering and the rear was not fighting the front so much.

Finals
In the first finals I got taken out by the no 5 car and stopped as I was so far behind, to save the tires. In the second final I also had an incident with car 3 and 5 so was last after the first lap and could only recover up to 5th. In the last final I had a clean start and eventually could pass no 3 car to finish 3rd. This gave me 4th position overall.

The Project 4X car was an improvement from previous races and the result should have been podium, but the pace was there so we look forward to next races !

Best regards,
Viktor Wilck
