Race report for the 2017 ROAR Carpet Nationals.

The race was held in New Rochelle New York at 360 V2 raceway with about 150 entries. This track is known for it’s high traction and it didn’t take long for the track to groove up and live up to it’s reputation. Right from the get go the car was pretty good and only needed a few minor adjustments.

The first day of qualifying would be 2 rounds. After the first day of qualifying, I was in the 3rd qualifying position just behind Kevin Hebert and Sam Issacs. On the second day of qualifying, I wasn’t able to improve my time and ended in the 4th qualifying position.

The first final of the triple A’s started out good, but towards the end while in 3rd position the car traction rolled and I ended up 5th. In A2 the car was a little aggressive on the steering, so I had to drive easy not to traction roll and finished 4th. For the A3 final, I changed the amount of glue on the front tires and that helped calm the car down. With the change I could drive the car harder and was able to pull off a 2nd place finish in A3. That result would was good enough place me in 3rd overall position.

For just the second race with the 4x, I was really happy with this result.
