Another race and another podium finish. The race was held in IRC Arena Åtvidaberg and was the 3rd race of the South Swedish Indoor Cup. The race was combined with the MSEC cup.

The track was very narrow and techincal and easy to make mistakes. At the Friday's open practice I Opened 2 sets of tires to se which one was the best. After 2 runs it was obviously which one was the best.

At qualification I had the pace to battle for the 2nd grid spot but a mistake in last minute at q3 got me a 3rd spot on the grid. In the finals it continued to be even between me and Marcus Von Elling. I manage to take the first leg after a mistake by Marcus. In the 2nd final I could overtake him after just a few turns since he made a mistake. I had the 2nd place for the whole run until a few corners ahead of the finish line when I got hit by a back marker, it costed me the 2nd place that run. In the last main I made a mistake and my battery fell out early in the run. Marcus could easy take home the 2nd spot in the last main and took 2nd place overall. I finished 3rd.

Viktor Wilck participated in the race and gave me a lot of tips about the car. We practiced together the day before and eh taught me some things that would change the feeling of the car dramaticly.

The first big thing I came to knowledge about the car just a few weeks ago was the holes on the rear hub. The standard hole is the the outer hole but I changed to the inner hole and the car was wasy better. The car was more stable during the entire corner but the biggest change is when entering the corner. It is more stabile and amde me able to push the throttle earlier and pick up more speed quicker.

We did also test softer front springs but I drove with a longer rear end then Viktor so the changes made car unstable and harder to drive. Viktor said that the car got smoother during highspeed corners and for the tight corners he got mor initial steering. I'm looking forward to test this changes next practice session to learn what will happen with the feeling of the car.

I also changed the wheelbase in the rear. Viktor had a shorter rear wheelbase than I had so I changed to the same just before the qualifications. The car rotated faster through the corner but was still very stable on-power. It could be a little hard to handle in one of the corners which we rebuild the day before and it didn't have the traction as for the rest of the track.

I also tested a 5.5 Hobbywing engine instead for my regular 4.5. I didn't have that sensitivity on the throttle when I was exiting the car as I had with the 4.5 engine. On my 4.5 engine I drove almost zero timing but I had to have medium (23 boost timing, 30 turbo tming) timing on my 5.5 engine. The difference is very hard to explain but I lost a few meters in acceleration to the drivers who I knew was driving 4.5 engines.

The car as it was this weekend is without a doubt the best I ever had. It turned in very good and kept on going smooth for the entire corner. In the highspeed corner I could only steer and gas without be afraid for the rear end to slide. I saw some of the brands had to retake the turn 3 times. I could push the car just as I wanted without over push it and make mistakes.

After all I'm very happy. The drivers I'm competing against is some of the best 1/10 TC drivers we have in Sweden. Some of them had some struggles with the cars and the track. I finally feel that I could show my full potential with this car. Now it's a few weeks brake and preperations for the DHI cup 6th to 8th of January 2017

Thanks to Viktor Wilck and Hobbyprodukter for all support and help. Also an extra thanks to Jockeli Painting for providing me with an awsome body- paint that won me a Scalextic car track for the best body - paint on the track. And also thanks to David Gutefeldt, Carl Fredrik Mathiesen and IRC Arena for an awesome event and a good organization!
