Fresh back from the BRCA National at Stafford it was great to see such a competitive weekend from the Schumacher Team.
Tyres played a huge part in this race and the varying strategies by the different drivers made it an exciting set of finals. With the rain into the mix and the changing nature of the track with the sugar water washed away, changed the game somewhat.
James Hart drove a perfect weekend taking TQ and win in the Stock class, current champ Zak Finlay pushed him hard all the way but James made no mistakes to take a great win. Local star Andy Robson took third with his Mi5evo rounding off the podium with Chris Gunter 4th and Lee Price 5th. 4 of the top 5 cars Schumacher Mi5evo's!
Elliott Harper and Colin Price locked out the front row in qualifying with Elliott taking TQ and Colin second ahead of Olly Jefferies and Chris Grainger.
Elliott cruised the first leg taking a comfortable victory, but that was to be his last high of the weekend. In leg 2 and 3 Elliott suffered some aggressive manoeuvres and could only back up his 1st with a 6th position.
It was all to play for in the last leg and with all the top runners this time on equal tyres Colin put a great clean pass on Elliott to shoot into the lead. Colin then drove a comfortable race from the front and won the leg. The top 3 drivers all finishing on 4 points, Colin, Chris Grainger and Olly Jefferies, but Colin's higher grid position gave him the victory on the tie break rules.
