This is the Team Setup (modified) from the TITC 2019 in Bangkok/Thailand which worked very well over there.
We also had the chance to chat with our very own Robert Pietsch after the race and asked him some questions about the trip to Thailand. Check it out!

MSE: Robert, you just came back from a very interesting and successful trip to Thailand. First of all: Any kind of Jetlag?
RP: Yes, I need some day to get my rhythm back.

MSE: This was your first TITC but you know the facility and the track from the 1:10 scale nitro worlds back in 2012 - what is so special about RC Addict?
RP: First of all it is an amazing facility. It has the perfect size for 1/10 electric touring car. Directly trackside you find several rc shops. Also restaurants are close.
Due to the temperature, humidity and the big number of drivers, conditions are changing quite a lot throughout the day. This is very challenging for everyone.

MSE: Looking at the race itself, is it good to have so many long practice days before a race or is it sometimes confusing and ending in a kind of a setup jungle when there is too much time to test
RP: In my point of view, it won't change to much on the results with a bit of reduced practice time. Anyhow, for us it was good to get familiar with those special conditions.

MSE: What was the most difficult part of finding the perfect setup for the track in combination with the weather conditions in Bangkok?
RP: Basically the most difficult for the setup was to read the track conditions as much as possible, and decide how it could be in the race. The difference in the race is mainly how many cars are on the track, as in free practice the drivers rostrum is full all day long.

MSE: Did you and the team make a lot of unusual setup changes to the car to get it dialed in for the RC Addict racetrack or was it more about tire preparation and choosing the right bodyshell?
RP: We didn't have something very special on our setup. For the next time we only need to find something to have less drop off in 5min. But this seems to belong on small details.

MSE: Finally Viljami Kutvonen could manage two very good qualifying runs to secure an A-Main spot for the team, a great success for the MTC1 platform! At these big international races where the competition is always super high it is always important for all the teams to be in contention for the win but to get a car into the main is at least a big success as well. What does it mean for you as a designer and driver to finally see the hard work pay off again?
RP:It was basically our target to get a car into the a main. We have worked really hard in practice to reach the goal. Viljami had the chance for an even better result, but sometimes you have to deal with unfortunate race situations.
Basically I'm happy to reach our target, but we have to focus on more in future.

MSE: As Atsushi Hara was also racing a Mugen car, how helpful was his knowledge of the racetrack and the weather conditions during the whole event?
RP: The biggest help was his knowledge with conditions at this track. Also we have tested a lot of setup solutions. Even himself was surprised sometimes which things are working well. The teamwork was great.

MSE: Thanks for your time Robert, great to see the team succeeding and we look forward to ETS Round 3 in Madrid in a couple of weeks
